About onlinesportsbetting.co.uk: What We Publish and How We Check It
onlinesportsbetting.co.uk explains UK sports betting: the bet types, the prices, the calculators to check a bet, and where to find help when betting stops being fun.
What does the site cover?
The site is written for adults in Great Britain who bet on sport or are thinking about it. It covers how bets are built, how fractional, decimal and American odds relate, and what a bet pays once place terms, Rule 4 deductions and dead heats are applied.
Every page is written in plain English, uses British prices first and links to the calculator that answers the question on the page. Knowledge pages, such as the guides and the tools, carry no bookmaker names, offers or links to betting sites.
How are the calculators built and checked?
The odds converter, the bet calculator and the each-way calculator share one calculation engine. It converts every price to full precision, settles each line of a bet and rounds to the penny only at the end.
The engine is covered by automated tests: they check the number of bets in each of the 14 bet types and settle worked examples (singles, doubles, accumulators, Yankees, Lucky 15s, Lucky 31s and Goliaths, with each-way, Rule 4 and dead-heat cases) against figures worked out by hand. The same tests run again whenever the code changes. The worked examples printed on our pages were produced with this engine, so you can repeat any of them in the calculators.
What will the site not publish?
- Odds or prices presented as live when they are not, and claims about how fresh a price is that we cannot back up.
- Bookmaker scores or rankings before the method behind them is set out on the site.
- Offers we have not checked against the bookmaker's own terms, or offers without their significant terms.
- Tips, predictions or any suggestion that betting is a way to make money.
- Links to gambling businesses without a licence from the Gambling Commission.
How are bookmakers chosen and reviewed?
The site's owner chose fourteen bookmakers for the comparison pages. Each one holds an active Gambling Commission licence, and the bookmaker website a "Visit Here" button leads to is listed on the Commission's public register under that licence; the register was last checked on 21 October 2026. On the homepage the bookmakers are ranked by our editor; the sport pages list them A to Z. There is no score or star rating. How the ranking is decided, and its limits, are set out on how we rank the bookmakers.
A bookmaker gets its own review only when official sources give enough facts about it: its own help, terms and payment pages, its official app store listings, and the Commission's register and regulatory action pages. Nothing is tested with real money, welcome offers are not described, and a fact that could not be read from an official page is reported as missing rather than estimated. Every fact carries the date it was checked. The bookmaker reviews page lists the reviews published so far and compares all fourteen bookmakers on verified facts, and how we review betting sites sets out the full process.
Does the site earn money from bookmakers?
Yes, from the links on this site. The "Visit Here" buttons on comparison and review pages lead through a /go/ address and an affiliate link to the bookmaker's own website, so the bookmaker may pay this site a commission when you open an account through one, at no cost to you. A commission does not change a bookmaker's position or what a review says. The buttons open in a new tab; the guides and the calculators carry no bookmaker links.
A listing is not an endorsement, and holding a licence is a condition for appearing on the site, not a mark of quality.
