This Fitzdares review starts with the register. The Gambling Commission entry for Fitzdares Limited, account 400, lists five active licences. One is a non-remote general betting licence held since 15 June 2016. The remote licences, all under reference 000400-R-103839-030, cover casino (from 11 June 2018), general betting for real events (from 1 January 2009), general betting for virtual events (from 12 May 2020) and pool betting (from 5 July 2013). The page we read on 21 October 2026 showed no regulatory actions.
The company's own membership page (read 21 October 2026) repeats the Great Britain licence and adds that its Irish sportsbook is licensed under the Betting (Amendment) Act 2015, licence number 1015927. A register entry confirms authority to offer gambling in Great Britain. It is not a statement about product quality.
Fitzdares Limited was incorporated on 10 June 2005, according to Companies House, and is the brainchild of Balthazar Fabricius, as The Spectator described it in 2016.
The Spectator also reported that Fitzdares had acquired Sunderlands, a Croydon-based family telephone bookmaker. Sunderlands had itself taken over Laurie Wallis in 1998 and T. Guntrip in 1982, and Guntrip's foundation in 1882 made it probably the oldest-established bookmaker in the country, in the magazine's words.
The UK App Store listing is titled Fitzdares: Premium Betting, with Fitzdares Ltd as the seller. It is rated 18+ and shows age assurance and gambling among its in-app controls. It needs iOS 15.0 or later on iPhone, iPadOS 15.0 or later on iPad, macOS 12.0 or later with an Apple M1 chip, or visionOS 1.0.
The description says the app 'is rich in betting options', and lists cash out, accumulators, Lucky 15s, specials and antepost. Those words are the store's own, and we did not test any of the features. The membership page also links a Google Play version, so the app is described as available on both major stores.
The Fitzdares contact page (read 21 October 2026) gives a phone number (020 7851 5407), a text number (07492 882213) and the address bet@fitzdares.com for bets, with separate addresses for membership and club enquiries. Live chat runs through the app.
Hours are 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 9pm on Sunday, extended when there is a major evening sporting event, according to the page. The same page carries an 18+ marker, a 'Please play responsibly' notice and a link to BeGambleAware.
The deposits and withdrawals section of the Fitzdares help pages (read 21 October 2026) says Fitzdares accepts debit cards, bank transfers and other secure payment methods. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in Great Britain, a rule in force since April 2020.
The one amount it states is a £10 minimum deposit. It applies when a card has gone missing from the account: the customer adds the same card used before, makes a new deposit of at least £10, and can then withdraw all funds including that deposit. A separate article says a delayed withdrawal is worth checking against the email inbox, because a verification request may be waiting. Beyond that, the section gives no method-by-method limits.
Anyone who wants to stay in control of spending can read the responsible gambling page before opening an account.
Several short help articles, all dated 28 March or 3 April 2025, explain how the account works in practice. The app needs your location: Fitzdares says location verification is required for compliance, so location services must be switched on and the app given permission.
Bets placed before 8pm on Monday 31 March 2025 appear under a separate Historical tab as historical transactions. If an app crash interrupts a bet, the help pages say to check My Bets, and to contact support straight away if money left the balance but no bet appears. A cash-out request can take a few seconds and may fail if the odds move during the request. You can log in with your email address or a phone number in +44 format as well as a username.
The App Store privacy label, declared by Fitzdares Ltd, lists identifiers as data that may be used for tracking across other companies' apps. Contact details and a user ID may be linked to your identity, while payment info, coarse location and device data are collected without being linked to it.
Fitzdares Limited holds Gambling Commission licences for general betting, pool betting and casino. Its app listing names cash out, accumulators, Lucky 15s, specials and antepost bets, membership is free, and its help pages name debit cards and bank transfers as payment routes. Product pages, betting rules and limits were not readable, so read them in full before depositing. 18+, BeGambleAware.org.
